The Position

Hakanson Anderson is seeking summer interns for 2025 to support our Engineers, Surveyors, and other staff in the field and office. This includes but is not limited to construction observation and record keeping; construction staking; assisting in preparation of various reports, feasibility studies, cost estimates; and GIS or CAD drawings.

Desired Qualifications

• 2 years of class work in a civil engineering, construction management, or surveying program
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or ArcView software is desired but not required

Position Requirements

• Possess the understanding of the standards of surveying and engineering practice and follow instructions as directed
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Physically able to work in extended outdoor conditions around the Twin Cities metropolitan area
• Able to handle basic tools such as hammers, shovels, stake out rods, and level rods
• Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements
• Possess good interpersonal skills and oral communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have the ability to immediately work in the United States

This position is a paid internship. This position will be paid time and a half for hours in excess of 40 per week.
